Wow a lot has happened since I updated last.
Welcome to our Family Caleb Emery Hadlock
He was born on Dec 11th at 4:38 am, weighing in at 6 lbs and 11 oz, 19 3/4 inches long.
So Here is Calebs Birth story.
Well with him being a December baby, I told my Dr Right off I wanted to have him before Christmas, My due date was Dec 30th. He just told me, well if you go in to the hospital at 37 weeks or earlier, they wont keep you. so my plan was to try to have him the weekend of the 16-18 hoping i'd have a few days to recover for Christmas.
My mom's birthday is on Christmas eve and we always go to dinner or lunch. So I had told her we probably wouldnt make it this year. So I was talking to her on the phone and we needed to trade some stuff, so I said, hey, lets go to lunch, just you and me, and made arrangements to go on Saturday the 10th. So we met up at Denny's in Woods cross and had an enjoyable lunch, then decided to do a little shopping at Kmart. While we were at Kmart I had found this little drawer thingy and decided i'd buy it and use it at the baby's dresser till he got bigger. So My mom and I parted ways, I stopped at a friends house to pick something off, Stopped at Wendy's house and Dropped something off, came home and decided I was going to put this drawer thingy together, Had Thomas bring it in and had Adam go get a screwdriver. So it took oh maybe 30 min to put together so I drug it into Katrina's room, since thats where the crib is and we found a place for it. Since I had felt really good most the day, I decided I'd go lay down for a bit, make dinner then set up the tree. Well that all went out the window when I layed down. I got this HUGE pain in my back, a constant pain, I tried rolling from side to side, sitting up, walking around laying down, NOTHING I did would ease the pain, so I told Katrina to run downstairs and tell daddy that mommy needed him. So he comes upstairs and I tell him i'm in so much pain I dont know what to do. (almost in tears cuz of the constant pain), so I told him, take me to the ER, knowing they'd take me right to Labor and Delivery. thinking they would just give me a shot of morphine and send me home. so we didnt take anything (bag wise). So once we got there I was so happy to be put in a wheelchair and not have to walk any more, and like I thought they took me right to Labor and delivery. On the way up the elevator the girl asked me how far apart my contractions were, I told her, I'm not in labor I just have a really bad pain in my back. Getting to L&D they had me change, did a Urine sample and checked me, I was at a 1.5. Ok, well I hadnt been checked by the Dr yet. Anyway, they decided that I must have a kidney stone, i'm thinking really? thats kinda random. So she called the Dr, and like I thought, they gave me a shot of morphine, told me it would take effect in 10-15 min, so I asked bryan to time it.when the nurse gave me the shot in my hip, she said to bryan, "she must be in a lot of pain, because I didnt even flinch when she gave it to me. So I kept asking him, what time is it now? what time is it now? 30 min passed and NO sign of relief. They checked me again, I was to a 3, The nurse said, well its not a kidney stone, your in labor. What? really? So she said, The anesthesiologist will meet us at your room. and took me into the room and immediately got the Epidural, Oh the relief, what a wonderful drug. So this was around 5:30 6:00 pm. but what a long night ahead. I was still a 3 around midnight, finally to a 4 at 1:30 and the On call Dr came in and broke my water. With my other kids, I moved really fast after my water broke. Nope not this time. Finally to a 5 around 3. to a 7 by 4, then I kept feeling pressure so I paged the nurse, and I Swear it took FOREVER for the Dr to get there. Anyway, He was Finally Born at 4:38. Poor little Guy born 3 weeks early, and so tiny. But we Welcome him with open arms into our family.
I finally got to come home from the hospital on Tuesday, but they said I had to have his bilirubin tested on Wed. so back to the hospital on Wed, Levels were at 17 which were high, so they sent someone out with the bilirubin lights and said keep him on them and get an appointment with your Dr. so Thursday, back to the hospital for another Poke, Levels at 18.5, VERY HIGH and a visit to the Dr. Dr said, keep him in the lights, and have him tested again. Friday morning, back to the Hosptial, Levels at 15, YAY they dropped. But still have to go back on Monday, just to make sure he's still doing good.
While at the hospital, they wouldnt allow anyone under the age of 14 so none of my kids were able to come and see him at the hospital.
